Opacity Monitor

Opacity Monitor are the automated internal self-test equipments that are widely used in industrial chimneys and power plants to measure the visible opacity of the exhaust gases expelling out of the combustion chambers. These are used to maintain the level of the pollutants to minimize the level of pollution in the atmosphere. Opacity Monitor works on the light transmission techniques in which the high intensity light beam is projected across the gaseous mixtures. The dust and other particulates present within the mixture will attenuate the transmitted light and decrease the intensity of light due to the scattering and the absorption which gives the opacity value in terms of numbers as per the calibrated system.
